Making builders accountable to homeowners

Defective homes can turn your life upside down, but Texas laws don't protect you. They instead protect the contractor that built your defective home. That's why many say it's far safer to buy an older home than a new one. The laws were better then, and builders took pride in their work. Today, shielded by binding arbitration and legislation passed in their favor, they hire illegal, non-English speaking workers with no proven skill by the day and exploit their status by cheating them out of pay, medical coverage, and more. YOU, if you buy their defective homes, are partially to blame.
